ToF (Time-of-Flight) is one of the 3D sensing technologies, which has advantage of relatively simple to realize and lower cost compared to 3D structured light 3D sensing technologies. A diffuser is needed in TOF in order to achieve a uniform planar light illumination on the scene under detection. UNT's random micro-lens array (MLA) based refractive diffuser can be customized to any VCSEL light intensity profile and up to 120 degree of Field of View (FoV). Our injection molded plastic diffuser can be fabricated in large volume with very low cost.
